RIVER CITY ROVERS VS. CINCINNATI KINGS ENDS IN A DRAW 

Louisville, KY—Under clear skies and a temperature of 85, The River City Rovers, Louisville’s men’s outdoor soccer team, met the Cincinnati Kings for the second time in this season’s summer schedule.

The Rovers had the upper hand with great offensive plays in the first half of the game. The first goal was scored by Forward #14, Ace Gonya, with an assist by #18, Albert Edward. The second goal came from Midfielder #16 Kyle Richard with an assist by Gonya. The newest team to the Great Lakes Conference, the Rovers maintained the pressure on their opponent throughout the game with a total of 16 shots on goal versus Cincinnati’s 8.

The Kings returned in the second half with a change in defensive strategy. 6 substitutions in the second half seemed to turn the game, with 2 goals scored in the 52nd and 80th minute of the game. The game ended in a tie, 2-2.

The next Rovers home game is this Thursday, June 16th at 7pm. The Rovers will be taking on the Chicago Fire at Centurion Soccer Field (Christian Academy at 700 S. English Station Road, Louisville.) A full schedule of home and away games can be found at www.roverssoccer.com.
