ROVERS CONFRONT AKRON ASSAULT IN OHIO
Akron, OH—The River City Rovers men’s outdoor soccer team of Louisville lost to the Akron Summit tonight in a hotly contested match.
The Rovers’ field lineup included new team mates, Anyelo Avila, and Chad Haggerty.
Rovers’ midfielder Kyle Richard was active with a shot on goal in the first half; and Rovers’ Jeff McClure (D) scored a goal at the 42nd minute of the first half. Defensive player, Sam Brooks, temporarily stopped play to voice concern after a Rovers player was punched in the back.
The second half saw Akron’s players push forward without hesitation, scoring a total of 3 goals
for Ohio--the third scored in the 93rd minute of the game. Final score, Akron 3, Rovers 1.
