The Derby City Rovers are pleased to announce Moustapha Fofana as the 2nd signing for the 2016 PDL season. The 24 year old right defender from Senegal just completed his freshmen season at 9-time NAIA National Champion Lindsey Wilson College. During an impressive debut campaign for the Blue Raiders which saw Fofana start every game, the pacey and skillful defender was an essential piece of defensive unit that posted 11 shutouts. Moustapha is also known for his attacking prowess on the flanks, contributing 1 goal and 5 assists with his precision service into the box. Prior to enrolling at Lindsey he cut his teeth in the prestigious Diambars FC Academy.
Head Coach Lee Chalmers is excited about the complete game that Fofana will bring to this years Rovers PDL side. "Moustapha has the key qualities we look for in a defender in our system of play. First and foremost he can shut-down the opposing attack with his tremendous athleticism and positional understanding. But moreover, he strengthens our attack with his ability to get forward on the wing and provide a quality final ball in the attacking third of the field."
